Miatafest - July 17, 2010

to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Miata the folks at Mazda put on a fabulous event
at their R&D facility in Irvine, California.



It was very neat meeting (and chatting with) Tom Matano, Bob Hall and Mark Jordan at the birthplace of the Miata!


This is a prototype for the second generation Miata (NB). It's based on, and  uses many components from, the NA.

The pic on the left was taken on the day the Miata went on sale back in 1989.
When I saw the beautiful blue original Miata, I couldn't resist posing for a similar shot.
